This a full, but small, bathroom. I am looking to completely renovate the entire room.
So you can see this room is small. It’s as wide as the tub, so maybe 5 feet, 6 at the most. And not that much longer, maybe 8 feet. Standard 8 foot ceiling.
Pretty basic here. First, because this room is so small, I want to inset as much as possible. Meaning, I want the medicine cabinet in the wall. Now, that is a load baring wall and there is stud right in the middle. Let me know if you feel comfortable pulling that stud and setting a header. If you do not, I will find someone to do that if you are okay with doing the dry wall work after.
I also would like an inset shelf in the shower. I hate how everything sits on the edge of the tub. Might want two of those shelfs.
I am also considering getting a new toilet because this one just barely fits. There isn’t enough clearance on the back wall and the lid for the tank hits the wall. I also believe that the last time the wax ring was replaced, I was told that the flange should be replaced the next time the toilet is removed.
I am also interested in using all nickel fixtures/accents. Right now it’s all silver. So I am prepared to buy new fixtures. I’d also want the drain in the tub to be replaced with a nickel drain so it all matches. Not sure how hard that will be. My hope is that it will simply unscrew and can be replaced easily, but it’s been there for a long time.
And the final issue is the door. I think the house has settled over the years and the door just isn’t sitting right. I have shimmed the door (bottom) so that it sits better, but we might find that replacing it will be an easier fix.
Other than those things, everything else should be basic.
